Explore the American South from the end of the Civil War to today at Levine Museum of the New South. All ages will enjoy the award-winning exhibit Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers, featuring more than 1000 artifacts, images, video clips, music, and oral histories throughout interactive environments, illustrating the stories of how the South has reinvented itself over the past 144 years. The newest exhibit at the museum, titled Changing Places, takes a look at recent history and explores how people in the region are responding to the growing cultural diversity and change created by the influx of newcomers from across the U.S. and around the globe. Discover stories from newcomers and natives, experience a traditional Indian fire ceremony, visit an authentic Mexican tienda, share your story in a video-talkback booth, and join in many other interactive, multicultural experiences. Levine Museum is open Monday through Saturday 10am – 5pm, Sunday 12-5pm. Ask for discount coupons at Carowinds Preferred Hotels.
